Considerations That May Limit the Amount of Your Personal Injury Damage Award
If you have been injured in an accident, you may decide to file a claim and seek compensation for your losses from the at-fault party. How is Loss of Income Calculated After an Accident?
If you have been in an accident, you may have suffered injuries that prevented you from working while you recovered, or that will prevent you from returning to the same job – or even working at all – in the future. The person responsible for your injuries may have an obligation to compensate you for your lost income. But how are those losses calculated?

CAM LLP supports The Mustard Seed’s mission to be agents of change in our community
Our firm is deeply committed to supporting local organizations that operate to make Edmonton a caring and compassionate community. That’s one of the reasons we are proud to support The Mustard Seed. This non-profit organization has been caring for people experiencing homelessness and poverty since 1984. This year, we chose to show our support by donating funds and backpacks filled with basic needs items to Mustard Seed’s campaign for women transitioning out of incarceration.
On October 27th, Denise McGonigal and Tammy Vasseur, members of our firm, had the opportunity to visit The Mustard Seed’s facilities in Edmonton. During their visit, they met with Debbie, one of their Chaplains, who explained the broad scope of services provided as part of the transitioning program and gave them a tour of the new Wellness Centre. Functional Capacity Evaluations: What Are They And What Are My Rights?
If you have been injured in an accident, you may have spent some time off work to heal and recover from your injuries. At some point along your healing journey, your employer and/or your insurer may begin to contemplate your return to work. To assess your condition, they may ask you to attend an examination known as a residual employability assessment or Functional Capacity Evaluation (“FCE”).
An FCE may be part of plans for a gradual return to work. Continue reading
